Al-Haaqqah 2 of 2
But nay! I swear by that which you see, 38 as well as all that you cannot see! 39 Behold, this [Qur'an] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 40 And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe. 41 Nor is it the speech of a soothsayer; how little do you ponder! 42 (It is) a sending down from the Lord of all the Worlds. 43 Had he invented against Us any sayings, 44 We would certainly have seized him by the right hand, 45 and cut-off his main artery. 46 and not one of you would have been able to withhold Us from doing so. 47 But verily this is a Message for the Allah-fearing. 48 And verily, We know that there are some among you that belie (this Quran). [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 29, Page 68] 49 It is surely the nemesis of unbelievers. 50 And indeed it is a certain Truth. 51 So glorify the name of thy Lord Most High. 52
True are the words of God the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
