▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ I swear by the setting of the stars 75 and this is indeed a mighty oath, if only you knew – 76 Most surely it is an honored Quran, 77 [conveyed unto man] in a well-guarded divine writ 78 Only they can reach it who are clean (of mind). 79 [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Is it this Statement that ye scorn, 81 And make denial thereof your livelihood? 82 Why is it not then that when it (soul) comes up to the throat, 83 and you are watching at that time 84 But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not,- 85 Then why is it not-- if you are not held under authority-- 86 why can you not bring it (the soul) back (to life)? 87 (If a dying soul) is of those near to God, 88 happiness [awaits him in the life to come,] and inner fulfillment, and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he be of the fellows on the right hand, 90 (For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand. 91 But if he is one of those who rejected [the truth] and went astray, 92 Then the welcome will be boiling water 93 And the roasting in Hell. 94 Most surely this is a certain truth. 95 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Great One. 96
