The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great news - 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
