Believers, obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not turn away from him when you are hearing. 20 And do not be like those who say: "We have heard," but do not hear. 21 ۞ Lo! the worst of beasts in Allah's sight are the deaf, the dumb, who have no sense. 22 Had Allah known any good in them, He would have made them hear. And if He had made them hear, they would [still] have turned away, while they were refusing. 23 O Ye who believe! answer Allah and the apostle when he calleth you to that which quickeneth you, and know that verily Allah interposeth between a man and his heart, and that verily unto Him ye all shall be gathered. 24 And fear the turmoil which will certainly not fall only upon a few selected unjust people among you; and know that Allah’s punishment is severe. 25 Call to mind when ye were a small (band), despised through the land, and afraid that men might despoil and kidnap you; But He provided a safe asylum for you, strengthened you with His aid, and gave you Good things for sustenance: that ye might be grateful. 26 Believers, do not betray Allah and the Messenger, nor knowingly betray your trust. 27 And know that your riches and your children are but a temptation, and that verily Allah: with Him is a mighty hire. 28
