Do you not see that We have appointed devils to incite those who deny the truth to disobedience? 83 Hence, be not in haste [to call down God's punishment] upon them: for We but number the number of their days. 84 The Day will surely come when We shall gather the God-fearing like [honoured] guests before the Compassionate God 85 And We shall drive the sinners to Hell, like thirsty cattle driven down to water,- 86 None will have [power of] intercession except he who had taken from the Most Merciful a covenant. 87 And they say: 'The Merciful has taken a son' 88 This is certainly a monstrous lie! 89 Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins, 90 That men should ascribe a son to the Most Gracious, 91 And it behoveth not the Compassionate that he should take a son. 92 None there is in the heavens and the earth but must come unto the Compassionate as a bondman. 93 He has counted and enumerated them one by one. 94 And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender). 95 The Lord of Mercy will bestow affection upon those who believe and perform righteous deeds. 96 and only to this end have We made this [divine writ] easy to understand, in thine own tongue, [O Prophet,] so that thou might convey thereby a glad tiding to the God-conscious, and warn thereby those who are given to [futile] contention: 97 But how many (countless) generations before them have We destroyed? Canst thou find a single one of them (now) or hear (so much as) a whisper of them? 98
