The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 there is no denying its coming 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 and spreading shade 30 and flowing water 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And carpets raised. 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 and made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
