▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No, by the moon! 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 From the guilty. 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
