The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight. 2 Surely We guided him upon the way whether he be thankful or unthankful. 3 We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. 4 Indeed the virtuous will drink from a cup, containing a mixture of Kafoor. 5 This will be a gushing spring wherefrom Allah's servants shall drink wine, a spring from which they will take out channels wherever they wish. 6 They fulfill their vow and dread a Day the evil whereof shall be widespreading. 7 and who give food - however great be their own want of it - unto the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 saying, "We feed you for the sake of God alone, we seek neither recompense nor thanks from you. 9 we fear from our Lord a Day that shall be long and distressful.” 10 So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, 11 and their reward for being patient will be a Garden and silk [clothing]. 12 Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. 13 And close upon them will be the shades thereof, and low will hang the clusters thereof greatly. 14 Passed round will be silver flagons and goblets made of glass, 15 Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. 16 And they shall be given to drink from a cup whose mixture is ginger, 17 (Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil. 18 ۞ They will be attended by youths who will not age -- when you see them you will think them to be like sprinkled pearls -- 19 And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. 20 they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 Behold, this is your recompense and your endeavour has been appreciated. 22
