The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim 1 Defeated have been the Byzantines 2 (within a few years) they will be victorious. 3 in a few years. All power belongs to Allah both before and after. On that day will the believers rejoice 4 In the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 5 [This is] God's promise. Never does God fail to fulfill His promise - but most people know [it] not: 6 They know but the outer (things) in the life of this world: but of the End of things they are heedless. 7 Ponder they not in their minds: Allah hath not created the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain save with a purpose and for a term appointed? And verily many men in the meeting of their Lord are unbelievers. 8 Have they not journeyed in the land and observed what wise hath been the end of those before them? They were stronger than they in power and they broke up the earth and they inhabited it with greater affluence than these have inhabited it, and their apostles came unto them with evidences. And Allah was not one to wrong them, but themselves they were wont to wrong. 9 Evil was the end of the harmdoers, because they belied the verses of Allah and mocked at them. 10
