And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 nor any loving friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
