Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
