The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
