Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
