The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The time of reckoning has drawn near for mankind, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 Whenever any fresh admonition comes to them from their Lord they barely heed it and remain immersed in play, 2 Their minds are lost in frivolous pastimes; and the evil-doers discuss secretly: "Is he not but only a man like you? Then why are you taken in by magic seeingly?" 3 The Lord said, "Tell them (Muhammad), 'My Lord knows all that is said in the heavens and the earth. He is All-hearing and All-knowing ". 4 Yet they say: "These are only confused dreams," or rather: "He has invented them;" or: "He is only a poet. Let him therefore bring a miracle to us as the earlier (apostles) were sent with." 5 (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? 6 The messengers that We had sent before you were only men to whom We had given revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 And We did not create them (the Messengers, with) bodies that ate not food, nor were they immortals, 8 In the end, We made good unto them Our promise, and We saved them and all whom We willed [to save,] and We destroyed those who had wasted their own selves. 9 [O MEN!] We have now bestowed upon you from on high a divine writ containing all that you ought to bear in mind will you not, then, use your reason? 10
