The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 to their promise, 9 Those are the inheritors 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
