Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
