The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
