۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” – 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
