and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
