The Human (Al-Insan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there come on man a while of time when he was a thing unremembered? 1 We have created the human from a (sperm) drop, a mixture, testing him; We made him to hear and see. 2 Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains, fetters, and a Blaze. 4 Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, 5 a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; 6 They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. 7 They feed the destitute, orphans, and captives for the love of God, saying, 8 (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; 9 we fear from our Lord a Day that shall be long and distressful.” 10 Therefore, God will ward off from them the woes of that Day, and make them find brightness and joy, 11 and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; 12 In that [garden] they will on couches recline, and will know therein neither [burning] sun nor cold severe, 13 The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal, 15 crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. 16 And in Paradise they will be given to drink cups, filled with a mixture of ginger. 17 Which is a spring in Paradise called Salsabeel. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and of brocades. And adorned they shall be with bracelets of silver: and their Lord shall give them drink a beverage pure. 21 It will be said to them, “This is your reward – indeed your efforts have been appreciated.” 22
