The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 The night a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
