The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
