The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
