Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
