Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 and the night when it grows still and dark. 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 Thy Lord shall give thee, and thou shalt be satisfied. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance. 7 And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you? 8 Therefor the orphan oppress not, 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 and proclaim the bounties of your Lord. 11
