Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
