The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness. 24 Has the Reminder been cast upon him alone among us? Nay, rather he is an impudent liar.' 25 [And God said:] "On the morrow they will come to know who the boastful liar is! 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 They called together their companions and agreed to slay the she-camel. 29 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 30 We loosed against them one Cry, and they were as the wattles of a pen-builder. 31 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 32 The folk of Lot rejected warnings. 33 Verily We! We sent upon them a gravel-storm save the household of Lut; them We delivered at early dawn. 34 As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 40
