Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent - 1 Who created death and life in order to try you to see who of you are best of deed. He is all-mighty and forgiving, 2 Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts? 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast into it they shall hear it sighing, while it boils 7 as though it will burst with rage. Every time a multitude is cast into it, its keepers will ask them: “Did no warner come to you?” 8 They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'" 9 They will say: "If we had listened and been wise, we would not have been among the inmates of Hell." 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 Indeed for those who fear their Lord without seeing is forgiveness, and a great reward. 12 Whether you speak in secret or aloud, He knows what is in every heart. 13 How could He who created not know His own creation, when He alone is the Most Subtle in His wisdom and the All Aware? 14
