Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And those that strike violently, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for an appointed time? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
