The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 And by oath of the night when it covers, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 and the Last shall be better for thee than the First. 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 And He found thee destitute, so He enriched thee. 8 Do not oppress the orphans 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
