Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
