The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He hath created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
