The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
