Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Ha. Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we." 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Those who give not the Zakat and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
