۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
