Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 There is another sign in the [tribe of] 'Ad, when We sent against them a life-destroying wind 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
