Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
