Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
