And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Limitless in His glory is He who has created opposites in whatever the earth produces, and in men's own selves, and in that of which [as yet] they have no knowledge. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And We have appointed positions for the moon till it returns like an old branch of the date palm. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship. 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto, so on them they ride. 42 We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved, 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 When it is said unto them: Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy (they are heedless). 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error." 47 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled if ye say sooth? 48 The Truth is that they are waiting for nothing but a mighty Blast to seize them the while they are disputing (in their worldly affairs), 49 No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people! 50
