The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
