The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 and a few from later times. 14 On lined couches, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruit of what they select 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 and banana trees, 29 And spreading shade, 30 And water poured out 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And made them virgins. 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 For those on the right. 38
