Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 and the severally severing 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 Till an appointed term, 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
