The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 where then are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
