The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
