The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 has created man, 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
