Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Generous and recording, 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Indeed, the righteous shall (live) in bliss. 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
