Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In high empyrean 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
