The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
