The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and serried acacias, 29 and continuous shade, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
