Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
